It has been a crazy few weeks so things are well behind in terms of updating photoimagery.net.
Ireland is quite a small country, however it surely has some of the best landscapes in the world. The problem however is that some of these scenes have been photographed to death. So much so that I have often overlooked these locations. A kind of photographic snobbery on my part.
Derryclare Lough in the heart Connemara is a classic example. It is a scene that has graced everything from postcards & to place mats and is a location that I have deliberately ignored. However one early morning as the day was jut beginning this snobbery was left behind and I found myself standing at the edge of Derryclare Lough.
The vista was stunning and the light magical. Snobbish ideas went out the window; it had to be photographed. So while the mozzies tried to penetrate my mozzie net, I stood patiently and observed while the dawn sky penetrated the dark wet night sky. As I waited for that perfect moment to press the shutter.

The result you see above. My version of Derryclare Lough. A morning in which a lesson was learnt. That lesson; just because a location has been shot a thousand times before doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take your own version.
