Things are rapidly changing now. Autumn is upon us while winter waits impatiently round the corner. Weather conditions at this time of year can be a bit hit and miss and now is usually the time I find myself sitting bleary eyed at a monitor processing images long into the night.
Sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it. However, occasionally you come across an image that makes you realise why you follow your dream. Earlier this year I had the pleasure one evening of watching bog cotton dance in the golden evening light over looking the Atlantic Ocean and Tory Island. Be you a painter, a photographer or an ordinary man, it was a sight that would make any man lift a camera!

The resulting image may not be every ones cup of tea. Some web forums would even have you believe that the movement in the bog cotton is reason enough not to take the image.
But sometimes the scene and the mood it generates within surmount perceived technical ideas, and acts as a mechanism to recall a special moment. That’s what makes photography special. To me those magical moments; just me alone with nature can not be bought. Its why I continue to dream.
