Megabytes this, Gigabytes that, layers this an HDR that. Sound familiar? Well this is what anyone who is shooting digitally is listening to these days. Be it from photo magazines or photo forums.
I am as guilty as everyone else, and have spent hours in front of photoshop. But God I am starting to get tired of seeing images where things have been so overly manipulated so much so that it is freaky. Yet the authors would have us believe that ethically it is a true interpretation of what the saw. Bullshit!
I do not care that science tells me that my eyes are capable of observing so many variations of tone. I know how an image should look with my own eyes. Sadly in my opinion some photographers are loosing the run of themselves, the images they turn out are wonderful for what they are. But would they be ethically sound enough to be used by a magazine like the National Geographic or a photo group like Magnum?
Anyway enough of my ranting. I leave you with a simple image of a dew soaked buttercup meadow.
PS The grass was really in the field!!!
