‘Off the beaten track’, my first solo exhibition has opened at Man Made images in Mountcharles Co Donegal. Thankfully opening night fears of no-one turning up were quickly put to rest. In fact for a photo exhibition, the place was rocking.

I have had images exhibited many times before as part of a group exhibition. However when you are the only one in the spotlight it is amazing how nervous you feel.

The experience has made me realise how easy it is to hide behind a website. Unaware of who is looking and more importantly what they think. One thing that I found funny was that images that I would not have chosen for the exhibition where probably the most commented on. So I have to give credit to the gallery owners for insisting that those images went in.

This year I am determined to get my work into public places and listen to what people have to say. So if you are up Donegal way, pop into Man Made images and say hello to ‘Off the Beaten Track’ which runs until June.
