"Light in the Landscape" UCD Dublin

Earlier today (18/02/09), I gave a talk to a number of fourth year architectural students in UCD Dublin. Entitled "Light in the Landscape" the talk  addressed the changes in light one may observe throughout the day and seasons.

During the conversation, I gave the students an insight to the tools a landscape photographer may use while sharing my own observations and experiences of working with light under Irish skies.

I'd like to thank Paul for his invite and to his students for their feedback and comments.

Latest images updated

The latest image section of photoimagery.net  has been updated. This month selection of images as a mainly monochrome feel. Some of the images are a bit of a change in direction from my usual style. But that's what photography is all about experimenting and looking for new things that catch your eye.

The latest images can be viewed here.

Dublin Snow

The thing about Ireland is that we don't really get snow. From an Irish photographers point of view this is frustrating. So last week with the forecast indicating possible snow I decided to keep a camera close at hand while on a visit to the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham in Dublin city. Thankfully that decision paid off.

As the afternoon turned towards evening, Dublin City was engulfed in a passing snow storm. This event saw me scurrying into the gardens of the Royal hospital to capture some Irish winter scenes. Despite the cold I am please with the results. The images are atmospheric and the monochrome effect adds a timeless feel to them.
